Connect your AI agent to your website with MCP
By BeeRanked · August 25, 2026
Every team now has an AI that can write. Almost no team has a safe way to let it touch the website. The result is a strange ritual: the model drafts in a chat window, someone copies the text into a CMS, fixes the formatting, re-uploads the images, and fills in the SEO fields by hand.
The missing piece is not a smarter model. It is a pipe. And in 2026, that pipe has a name: MCP.
What MCP is, in one paragraph
The Model Context Protocol is an open standard that lets AI assistants call real tools: read data, create things, take actions, with permissions you control. Anthropic introduced it in late 2024, OpenAI adopted it across its products in March 2025, and Google confirmed MCP support for Gemini shortly after. In December 2025 the protocol moved to a neutral foundation under the Linux Foundation umbrella (history here). In practice: whichever assistant you use, it speaks MCP.
What that means for your website
BeeRanked ships an MCP server for your content workspace. Connect your assistant with an API key, and it can work with your site the way a careful colleague would:
See what exists: list your brands, content, categories, and content types, so it writes into your structure instead of inventing one.
Create drafts: full markdown with headings, images, tables, and links, landing directly in your workspace.
Do the SEO chores: set meta titles and descriptions, upload and attach images, assign categories, add redirects when URLs change.

Agents draft. People publish.
The most important tool in our MCP server is the one that does not exist: there is no way for an agent to publish. Everything an AI creates through BeeRanked arrives as a draft and waits for a human to review it in the dashboard.
That is a deliberate product decision, not a missing feature. Search engines have been clear that what matters is content quality, not how it was produced, and quality control is exactly the step teams skip when publishing is one API call away. Keeping a person on the publish button is how AI-assisted content stays content you are proud to put your domain on.
What teams actually do with it
The workflows we see most:
A standing draft pipeline. An agent researches and drafts a post each week, with sources linked. A human edits, then publishes on a steady cadence.
SEO cleanup at scale. Point an agent at older pages: it tightens meta descriptions, fixes missing fields, and proposes internal links, all as reviewable changes.
Migrations. Moving content in from an old site becomes "read these pages, recreate them as drafts here", instead of a week of copy-paste.
Answer-engine work. Agents are good at the structured, factual style that AI search engines cite, and they can draft it directly into your glossary or docs sections.
Connecting takes five minutes
Generate an API key in your BeeRanked dashboard, add the server to your assistant's MCP configuration, and ask it to look around. The full walkthrough, including the exact configuration snippets for common clients, is in Drive BeeRanked with AI.
Your AI can already write. Give it a safe place to put the work.
