Topic cluster
By BeeRanked · July 22, 2026

A topic cluster is a way of organizing content around a subject: one broad pillar page that covers a topic at a high level, surrounded by focused cluster pages that each go deep on a subtopic, all linked back to the pillar and to each other.
Why it works
It signals topical authority. Instead of a scattering of unconnected posts, a search engine (and an AI answer engine) sees a well-linked, comprehensive treatment of a subject, which builds confidence that you are a real authority on it. The internal links also spread ranking signals and guide readers deeper into your content.
How to build one
Pick a broad topic you want to be known for, and write the pillar page.
Identify the specific questions and subtopics beneath it, and write a focused page for each.
Link every cluster page up to the pillar, and the pillar down to each cluster.
