Rich results explained, a BeeRanked diagram

Rich results (formerly "rich snippets") are search listings enhanced with extra visual detail, star ratings, prices, FAQs, images, breadcrumbs, drawn from a page's structured data. They make a listing stand out and can lift click-through (Google Search Gallery).

How you earn them

  • Add valid Schema.org markup for a supported type (Product, Recipe, FAQPage, Article, and others).

  • The markup must reflect content visible on the page and follow Google's per-type guidelines.

  • Eligibility is not a guarantee: Google decides whether to show a rich result for any given query.
